How to organize fire sports competitions: disciplines, equipment and standards

To organize a competitive platform, first of all you need to prepare the right foundation. It should be a platform with artificial turf, if we are talking about stages with running or climbing a tower. But for combat deployment, almost any base is suitable. If relay races are planned, the stadium should initially have a circular track with a total length of 400 meters without a slope along the longitudinal and transverse lines and with a width of one lane of 2.5 meters.

The equipment for the competition area is selected based on the disciplines in which the tournament will be held.

What disciplines are included in the competition program

Ascent to the training tower with the use of an assault ladder

The tournament starts from the start at the line located 32.25 meters from the tower. After the signal, the participant climbs the stairs to the fourth floor, while he is forbidden to throw the ladder out of the standing position on the windowsill due to the high risk of falling off. The finish of the competition is the moment when the participant stood on the finish line with both feet or activated an electronic timing device.

A hundred- meter steeplechase race

The total length of the distance is 100 meters as standard. At the starting line, the participant takes any convenient position, and after the signal begins a race over a distance consisting of several sections: fence, lifting the sleeve, overcoming the sports boom, joining the sleeves, attaching the finished sleeve to the branch and laying the fire line. It is forbidden to change the location of the branch. After finishing, the participant must hold the line so that the judges can see and evaluate the quality of the closure, otherwise the result will not be counted.

Duathlon

The competition is held in two of the above disciplines at once, so the result is counted according to the total amount of time.

Fire relay race

The length of the distance is 400 meters – only 4 hundred meters. The team consists of four people, while each athlete can run no more than one section of the distance, passing the baton (fire barrel) to another participant. In the last section, the athlete must cross the finish line with the barrel, otherwise the finish will not be counted.

The sequence of the relay is as follows:

A participant with a relay trunk and a ladder starts at a signal, runs up to the rescue house, climbs to the roof, performs maneuvers and descends beyond the boundary line, touching the platform.

The next participant takes the baton and overcomes the section with a fence, while it is forbidden to place emphasis with their feet on the load-bearing sections of the structure. As soon as the athlete lands, the flammable liquid in the baking tray is ignited.

The next athlete takes the sleeves, goes through the boom, runs to the fork and connects the fire line to it, while the method of carrying the sleeve does not matter. At the moment of crossing the opening line, the athlete is obliged to hold the line so that the jury can evaluate the quality of the connection.

The last participant runs to the site with a fire extinguisher and extinguishes the flame in the pan. It is strictly forbidden to leave the device in the baking tray after extinguishing!

The finish of the relay is fixed after touching an imaginary line above the line with any part of the torso.

Combat deployment

After the start signal, athletes overcome the distance to the shield with fire equipment, connect the main line to the pump device, branch, lay two working lines, and then the gunners take their positions without crossing the boundary line located 45 meters from the shield. At the same time, the other participants connect the suction hose of the pump to the water tank. The exercise is considered completed when the gunners fill two target tanks with a capacity of 10 liters each.
